Perancangan Cottage Dengan Konsep Eco Design Reading Nook Di Plg Way Kambas

Abstract

The Way Kambas PLG area in Lampung, which was once an elephant attraction arena, has now been converted into a training and conservation centre. This change in function has opened up opportunities for the design of environmentally friendly tourist facilities that support conservation. This study aims to design cottages with an Eco-Rustic Modern Farmhouse concept, focusing on reading nooks as reflective and educational areas. The method used is a mixed approach (qualitative-quantitative) through literature study, observation, and distribution of questionnaires to 50 respondents who are interested in nature tourism. The results show that the application of eco-design principles and the integration of natural elements such as lighting and natural wood materials increase psychological comfort and strengthen the identity of the Way Kambas environment. This design is expected to become a model for educational accommodation that combines aesthetics, comfort, and sustainability.
