Abstract

Spatial circulation in museums plays a crucial role in ensuring comfort and smooth visits. The Barli Museum in Bandung, dedicated to commemorating the works of the painter Barli Sasmitawinata, was chosen as a case study due to challenges in managing visitor flow caused by limited space and facilities. Congestion in certain areas may reduce comfort and increase the risk of damage to art collections.

This study evaluates the movement patterns of visitors at the Barli Museum and proposes strategies to optimize circulation to improve comfort and preserve the collection. The findings indicate that the museum faces issues such as narrow corridors, lack of signage, and insufficient supporting facilities. Implementing more effective circulation systems, such as spiral, linear, grid, or network patterns, can help address these problems. With improvements in circulation management and facilities, the Barli Museum can provide a more comfortable and sustainable visitor experience.
