Abstract

The transformation of studio apartments into tourist accommodation presents opportunities and challenges in optimizing limited space to meet the needs of travelers seeking comfort and efficiency. The main issue in this conversion is how to maximize space functionality while maintaining quality standards and appeal through the integration of local cultural elements. This study aims to evaluate space requirements, design innovation, and facility standards necessary for developing studio apartments as tourist accommodations. The research method utilizes a quantitative and qualitative approach, with quantitative data collected from a survey of 331 respondents and qualitative data obtained through in-depth interviews with tourism experts and property owners. Survey results show that 87.6% of respondents favor designs that integrate local culture, and 88.8% agree that the use of local materials enhances accommodation appeal. Additionally, 81.6% of respondents find design styles that combine traditional and modern elements more attractive. This study concludes that space optimization, local cultural integration, and appropriate facility standards are essential aspects to increase the appeal of studio apartments as tourist accommodations.
