Abstract

Indonesia has a rich artistic and cultural heritage, which reflects the identity, values and traditions of its people. In the modern era, the sustainability of traditional art faces challenges due to technological developments, lifestyle changes, and globalisation. This research aims to analyse the integration of traditional art elements in modern design, focusing on its aesthetics, functionality, and relevance in the contemporary creative industry. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, this research explores how the fusion of traditional and modern elements in fine art, furniture, and interior decoration can maintain cultural values while keeping up with the trends of the times. The results show that combining traditional motifs with modern techniques not only enhances the aesthetic value but also creates economic value for local artists and craftsmen. Moreover, the use of digital technology in production and marketing accelerates the revitalisation of traditional art, making it more adaptive to global tastes. Thus, this research contributes to strengthening the understanding of the importance of innovation in traditional arts as a form of sustainable cultural heritage preservation.
