Abstract

The study focuses on the increased contribution of the agricultural sector to the Indonesian Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which shows a positive trend despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. It shows that the agricultural sector remains an important pillar of the Indonesian economy, especially during pandemic times. One of the factors supporting the sustainability and improvement of this sector is the adoption of digital technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), known as smart farming. The application of smart farming aims to improve agricultural efficiency and productivity through the use of sensors and microcontrollers to monitor and optimize factors that influence crop growth. The research is aimed at developing a bridge application with the IoT-based Smart Farming concept in real-time monitoring and irrigation of farmland. The technology utilizes sensor modules and microcontrollers such as NodeMCU ESP-32, DHT-11 sensor, soil moisture sensor, and Firebase-based cloud computing system to monitor and manage factors affecting plant growth. The prototype method is used in research, this process is done to carry out the development of the bridge application system. This research produces a mobile application for controlling irrigation and monitoring plants. So compared to conventional farming, the development of this system has a flexible advantage in mobility for real-time monitoring and irrigation.
